Open Call: New Scenography and Graphics for Bestform

Concept – Scenography & Exhibition Design – Graphic Design
The concept consists of four basic geometric shapes, inspired by the historical surroundings, particularly the arches and steel columns in the Stadtsaal of the Kornhausforum (Bern). The walls are combined into space-dividing modules as needed and stand out through their shape and color scheme. Additional pedestals, window cutouts, and shelves offer various combinations for presenting the exhibits. The window cutouts allow for diverse viewpoints and create spatial transparency. From different locations, visitors gain insights and spatial references to the holistic color concept, which provides bright, soft contrasts to the main colors of the Stadtsaal. The floor guidance system leads visitors to the exhibits and promotes dynamic movement within the space. The texts and graphics of the exhibits are integrated into the space-dividing modules, while the Bestform logo frames the exhibition spatially and typographically along the long sides.
The conceptual considerations and content are a collaboration between Maja Riegler and Kathrin Mast.
Das Konzept besteht aus vier geometrischen Grundformen, inspiriert von der historischen Umgebung insbesondere den Rundbögen und Stahlsäulen des Stadtsaals im Kornhausforum (Bern). Die Wände werden nach Bedarf zu raumgliedernden Modulen kombiniert und heben sich durch Form und Farbgebung ab. Zusätzliche Podeste, Fensterausschnitte und Tablare bieten vielfältige Kombinationen für die Präsentation der Exponate. Die Fensterausschnitte ermöglichen diverse Blickwinkel und erzeugen eine räumliche Transparenz. Von verschiedenen Standorten aus erhalten die Besucher:innen Einblicke und Raumbezüge des ganzheitlichen Farbkonzepts. Dieses setzt helle, weiche Kontraste zu den Grundfarben des Stadtsaals. Das Bodenleitsystem führt die Besucher:innen zu den Exponaten und fördert eine dynamische Bewegung im Raum. Die Texte und Grafiken der Exponate fügen sich in die raumgliedernden Module, während das Bestform Logo die Ausstellung räumlich und typografisch an den Längsseiten einrahmt.
Die konzeptuellen Überlegungen und Inhalte sind eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Maja Riegler und Kathrin Mast.
